Conference Main Information

Welcome !

Due to the pandemic, the conference has been postponed to 2022, from the 19th to the 24 of June, in the hope that a safe, enjoyable, and fruitful event in presence can be held.

Program

Following the traditional conference organization, both regular sessions and social appointments will be organized for the fruitful participation of researchers of every experience, from younger PhD students to highly recognized scientists.

Key dates

Submission of full-length papers is open. The deadline is on July 31, 2022. See detailed instructions at this link.

Scientific Program

The International Colloquium on the Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems (ICDERS) has been held every two years since its founding in 1967 by N. Manson, A.K. Oppenheim, and R. Soloukhin. The colloquium has been the premier international forum for the presentation of scientific contributions in the fields of explosions and unsteady combustion, where there is strong coupling between reaction and fluid mechanics. It is recognized by The Combustion Institute as a Specialists Meeting on the fluid dynamics of combustion.

Program Chair: Prof. Akiko Matsuo

Topics and publications

The meeting encompasses and welcomes both basic and applied research. Specific examples of contributions and topics from previous years can be found by visiting the website of the Institute for the Dynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems (IDERS), http://www.icders.org, which has links to websites of previous meetings.

Contributed presentations, in oral and poster sessions, plenary and special sessions will take place during the week-long Colloquium. Starting from this edition, authors of papers accepted for presentation at this meeting are encouraged to submit full-length versions to one of these journals: Combustion Science and Technology, Combustion Theory and Modeling, and Shock Waves. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed according to individual journal standards but will be identified as ICDERS work individually or as part of a special issue.

Important News

Full paper submission is open. The final deadline for submission is on July 31, 2022.

Online Registration*: is closed. After June 15, only on-site registration will be accepted.
* Regular full registration is no more possible, being all seats available already booked.

COVID-19 special advices

The 28th ICDERS, originally planned to be held in August 2021, has been postponed in the hope that it can be held fully in person, to represent the occasion for fruitful discussions, the inclusion in the community of younger scientists, and for meeting opportunities. The conversion to a partially or fully online conference will be adopted if, in the case of the persistence of the pandemic, totally safe conditions for health cannot be guaranteed or in observance of governmental prescriptions.
